  • One day, a girl named Maggie was driving through her town and saw three different signs that were all the same color. She wondered what they could be.
  • The first sign said "21 percent of teen drivers involved in fatal accidents were distracted by their phones," Maggie thought about it but just drove right past. 
  • 21 percent of teen drivers involved in fatal accidents were distracted by their phones. Stay off your phones and get to your destination!!
  • She drove by the second sign and heard her phone buzz. She thought.. should I look at my phone? The sign said "5 seconds is the minimal amount of attention that a driver who texts takes away from the road. If traveling at 55 mph, this equals driving the length of a football field without looking at the road." She read the sign then, looked at her phone.

  • As she was looking at  her phone another car was coming and she ran into it. She was rushed to the hospital.
  • The doctor came in and told her she was going to be okay. He asked her if she read the last sign. She said no. The doctor said "The sign said, "Teens who text spend 10% of their time outside their lane." She said, "I ignored the sign to check my phone." "I am just glad you are okay and I hope you have learned a lesson." The doctor said.
