  • "Miss Mayella lemme outa here."(Pg. 260)
  •  "Kiss me back Nigger."(Pg.260)
  • "You felt sorry for her, you felt sorry for her?".(Pg.264)
  • "I felt sorry for her, she seemed to try more'n the rest of ' em-" (Pg.246)
  • Tom, said that Mayella needed her help with fixing a door, so she called him in then she reacher up and kissed the side of Toms' face and he wanted to leave but he didn't want to hurt Mayella. 
  • Tom then said he ran when Bob Ewell came through the door because he was scared. Tom said that Bob said many harsh things but felt they were more directed to Mayella because he said " Whore".
  • "Guilty...guilty... guilty...guilty..." (Pg.282)
  • First Atticus questioned Tom and we found out that Mayella was lying, and she was the one who had hugged Tom first and accused him of rape. However, when Mr. Glimmer started questioning Tom, Tom had made a huge mistake by saying he felt sorry for Mayella. 
  • After we came back from lunch the Jury had left to claim the verdict and everyone in the courthouse was anxious, especially Atticus, he was pacing around worried. Atticus toured the courthouse " he made a tour of the windows, then walked by the railing over to the jury box. He looked in and inspected it." (Pg. 280)
  • Mr.Tate came in and rang the authority and The jury came back in and eveyeoen in the coruthouse was alive and alert. Then the Jury came in and gave the clerk the polling who gave polling to Judge Taylor. 
  • Atticus put his hand on Tom's shoulder as he whispers. Atticus took his coat off the back of his chair and pulled it over his shoulder. Then left the courtroom, but not by his usual exit."(Pg.282) "He walked quickly down the middle aisle"(Pg.283)
