- "Jonas has not been assigned,"..."Jonas has been selected"
- Jonas is intelligent, wise, he has integrity, and he has courage.
- Jonas is nervous about the ceremony because he is the only one left on stage. He thinks that he will not be given an assignment.
- What does that even mean? What do I do anyway?
- The Chief Elder told Jonas that he has not been given an assignment. He has been selected as Receiver of Memory
- Jonas just received this information and has no idea what to expect. The Chief Elder says that he has intelligence, integrity, wisdom, and courage.

- He didn't understand the meaning of this selection. He will soon understand it when he gets more of the proper training.
- He saw the audience change after he received this. He blinked, the change was gone.
- Jonas had his name chanted. Just like the new child, Caleb. He loved the sound and it gave him pride.
