  • All About Miller
  • We never change do we
  • Miller wanted to show just how much the people of Salem's life was miserable. In the first chunk, he tells us how enjoyment was considered unnecessary and they couldn't do it even if they tried. Back then, jobs were difficult and took up a lot of time. People started meeting at the bar or in farm houses which ruined the tradition. Miller emphasized the fact that their life was miserable and wanted to show people why they took the actions that they later on did in the play.
  • The author wanted to point out that there were snitch polices at the time. They hired people to check who isn't going to church just so they can later on blame them for such things like being witches.
  • I chose Miller because I wanted to show what his intentions were to writing this book. He wanted to set the scene and drag people in his show. These pages go over the history and background of these people and what they went through. Miller's aim was to get us really hooked in the but also to clarify why these people did what they did.
