I recommend this book because its a really good book to read. Also its so entertaining to people well to me.
My name is Lucy Dark. I'm twelve and live with my little bother, Randy who is six and my parents. I love to scare my brother. I tell him scary stories about monsters until he begs me to stop.
The sky outside the window brightened, and a gray triangle of light fell over Mr. Mortman's desk. Opening my eyes, I realized I'd been holding my breath. My chest felt as if it were about to burst. I let out the air slowly and took another deep breath.
Mr. Mortman seen me looking at him. He was staring at me through the door with those beady black eyes, an evil, thin- lipped smile on him pale, round face.
The Flash! I had forgotten about the flash! I was so worried about the click of the shutter, I had totally forgotten that my camera had automatic flash! T he instant flash of white light made Mr. Mortman cry out angrily.
I tried to scream, but no sound came out. He held firmly onto my shoulders. I could feel his hot, wet hands through my shirt. I tried to pull away, but he was too strong.
Mr.Mortman arrived a few evenings later with some flowers. Mom accepted the flowers from him and led him into the living room where Dad,Randy and I were waiting. I gripped the back of me chair tightly as he entered.
