Lukes father sells the woods and the government came in and started to build new houses in the area. Luke had to live in the attic after that. This is the exposition because it is introducing the setting and the main character.
Take this, you'll be free and live a better life!

WELL MISS YOU SWEETY!
I'LL MISS ALL OF YOU!
Luke and jen always wanted to be free so jen thought of an outrageous idea to go to the government's house and start a rally. Luke thought about it and decided he didn't want to go because of the dangers. this is the climax because this is leading to luke finding out about something he never wanted to happen to jen.
We Want Freedom Or We Want Death!
I shouldn't have made jen go to the rally!
After the rally luke went to jen's house to see if the rally worked. Jens dad heard the alarm and went to see what happend. Jens dad found out about jens and luke's relationship. He told luke that jen and the other 39 children died in the rally. He offered to give him a fake id to give him a better life than jen's. This is the falling action because luke found out about jen's death and something he never thought would happen to jen
Luke goes home, tells his parents about jen, her dad, the rally, everything, and spends as much time with them as he can. Luke left to become a baron in a private school and starts a new life. This is the conclusion because it is leading off into the next book and luke's new life.
the theme is everything happens for a reason because luke was obviously a third child so life for him was hard. he had to hide his whole life and when he found another third child he probably felt happy and free. Jens death might have made luke think about the kind of change he could do for the shadow children.
