  • We gather here at the Brown Church to start the Selma Campaign!
  • January 5, 1965
  • February 1-5, 1965
  • Martin Luther King Jr. started the Selma Campaign at the rally at Brown Church in Selma Alabama.
  • February 18, 1965
  • This ends here and now!
  •  Johnson lists voting rights for all citizens as a priority of his administration.
  • Bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965
  • King and 500 schoolchildren are arrested in Selma
  • March 21, 1965
  • I may have been the only one to complete this, but I did it for everyone now and after me
  • A night march in Marion ends with an attack (dozens injured).
  • How could they do this to us
  • Will we ever be safe?
  • The March from Selma to Montgomery was beginning but state troopers stopped it with tear gas.
  • It hurts so bad!!!
  • Why??
  • "With the National Guard protecting them, 3,200 marchers leave Selma for Montgomery. The Rev. Richard Leonard is the only UU among the 300 marchers who completes the full march."
