  • Teens & Drugs: A struggle or challenge that teens face, it may include peer pressure, or finding an escape.
  • peer pressure plays a big role with the issue of teens & drugs, and today a lot of drugs are accepted by society . This makes it easier for teens to chose to do drugs.
  • •in 2014 14 % of eighth graders reported smoking everyday . •37.4% of 12th graders reported past month drinking. •21.2% of of teens reported past month use of marijuana-6% reported daily use. •81% said the drug is easy to get. (mary jane) over the counter drugs- •4.8% of 12th graders used vicodin over the past 5 years. •5.8% of 12th graders used k2/spice, in 2014.
  • To prevent this, Parents ca talk to conselors or the teen and avoid accuisations if they suspect drug abuse.
  • biggest learning target: Many teens use this as an escape, it's not always peer pressure, sometimes a cause can be family history of substance abuse, etc.
  • this issue ties into depressio and self esteem many use is to numb pain or stress but it can cause long term health issues... but it can be prevented.
