Storyboard Text

  • photosynthesis
  • photosynthesis is the process of making glucose. Only plant cells can use the glucose made by photosynthesis as energy
  • photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2.
  • light dependent reactions
  • water molecules are absorb through the root of the plant and enters through tiny pores called stomata.
  • light dependent reactions the chlorophyll in the chloroplast absorbs the light photon and creates energy.
  • ATP and NADP are the enrgy made in this process
  • light independent reactions
  • light independent reaction.
  • chemical reactions that convert carbon dioxide and other compounds into glucose. These reactions occur in the stroma, the fluid-filled area of a chloroplast outside the thylakoid membranes.
  • carbon dioxide combines with the hydrogen using ATP. To make glucose
  • glucose
  • hydrogen
  • carbon dioxide
  • cellular respiration
  • Cellular respiration:  C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6H2O + 6CO2 + ATP.
  • cellular respiration is the process that breaks down glucose to make ATP. This process is aerobic meaning it needs oxygen to complete. when there is no oxygen anaerobic fermentation occurs
  •
  • The first step is glycolysis.  glycolosis breaks down the glucose into pyruvic acid
  • cellular respiration happens in the mitochondria
  • The 3rd step is the electron transport chain. This process is a series of complexes that transfer electrons from electron donors to electron acceptors
  • The second step is the Krebs cycle. The Krebs cycle produces molecules that carry out energy for the second part of cellular respiration. And ATP is produced.
  • Photosynthesis makes the glucose that is used in cellular respiration to make ATP. The glucose is then turned back into carbon dioxide, which is used in photosynthesis
  • how they are intterealed
  • glucose
  • this is just one big process that goes on and on forever and keeps repeating
