Storyboard Text

  • Psst! Bethany! did you hear about the new things called fractions?
  • Sure!
  • Yeah! I heard they are used for math.
  • Could you teach me about them?
  • Let's start with the basics: fractions are certain amounts of a whole. Equivalent fractions are different in display but the same in value. like 1/2 and 2/4
  • Benchmark fractions are common ones, like math celebrities. Benchmark fractions can be 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, and more.
  • Fractions directly relate to decimals. For example 1/100 is equal to 1%, while 1/10 is equal to 10%.
  • Mixed and improper fractions are ways to show a whole(s) with a fraction. a mixed fraction would look like  1 1/2, and a improper one would look like 3/2.
  • So there you have it. those are the basics about fractions!
  • Thanks billy!
