Where the Mountain Meets the Moon Storyboard
A long time ago, there were no rivers on Earth. A magical dragon named Jade Dragon controlled whenever and wherever it rained. This was the only way humans could receive water. In return, the humans of the land gave Jade Dragon signs of great reverence.
Jade Dragon had 4 children, Long, Black, Yellow, and Pearl, who all helped her control the rain. Jade Dragon was filled with love and pride whenever she saw her children fly through the skies.
One day, Jade Dragon moved the rain away from the villagers to another location. When Jade Dragon did that, she heard villagers talking to each other saying that they are happy it stopped raining. Jade Dragon was deeply offended they talked badly about her abiliities, she stopped the rain entirely from coming down onto the land.
When Jade Dragon made it stop raining, a drought-plagued the land, causing animals and trees to die. The people of the land begged for rain but Jade Dragon would not answer their plea.
Though Jade Dragon ignored the humans suffering, her children had a different view. They pleaded for Jade Dragon to let there be rain, but she still did not allow it. The four children all decided that they would come down to Earth and turn into rivers so the humans can have water.
When Jade Dragon saw what her children had done she fell with grief and sadness. She fell down to Earth and became the Jade River where she thought she could be reunited with her children. Jade Dragon's broken heart formed Fruitless Mountain, where nothing grows or lives on the mountain. The only way Fruitless Mountain will change is when Jade Dragon's spirit is reunited with at least one of her children.
