Far out, i'm running out of money, this has been my 3rd indulgence this week.
Here we go again.
Martin Luther was walking and a bolt of lightning struck by him. He then went to saint Ann and became a monk.
Diet of Worms
What shall we do with Martin Luther.
We will issue the Edict of worms.
The Church was selling indulgences and Martin Luther believed this was wrong. This was because, unlike many other men at his age, he had read the bible and discovered nothing about the church able to sell paid tickets to get into heaven. The Church was also gaining a lot of money off these poor peasants as they were always spending there hard earned money on a worthless piece of paper.
Translation of the Bible
Martin Luther was not happy with the church and the things it was doing so he wrote 95 complaints (95 thesis). Luther then nailed it to the Church door.
The Church Setting Thing Right
The Church must stop selling indulgences.
Yes I agree, from now on the Church will never sell indulgences.
The Church was upset at Luther for writing the 95 thesis so he was sent to the diet of worms to decide his fait. The diet of worms was a place in Germany The diet issued the Edict of Worms, which basically forbade anyone to shelter Martin Luther or provide him with aid.
Martin Luther went into hiding and made the biggest accomplishment of his life. He translated the Bible into the German language People helped Luther and smuggled out the bible from where he was hiding and then printed it multiple times and became the headline of every news paper. When Christians read the Bible they realised that what the church was doing was wrong and became upset.
The Church knew they had to do the right thing and stop selling indulgences otherwise they would lose all their followers. People saw what the Church was doing and how it was correcting its wrongs so they eventually forgave the Church.
