Storyboard Description

What I have learned and implemented in my classroom from this class so far.

Storyboard Text

  • Mrs. Volta has some great ideas on how to differentiate the math lessons for this week so that everyone in each of our classes can access the material. We will use manipulatives, and sing a song to learn the material.
  • It's as easy as "I do, we do, you do." The students have a chance to practice what they've learned using any method that works best for them.
  • We collaborate as a grade level team. Two brains working together are better than one.
  • This is allowing my students time for dramatic play, where they can "make important cognitive gains that invite them to represent their world in pretend play, symbols, objects, drawings, and words" (NAEYC)
  • I am time out of the district-wide curriculum for developmentally appropriate activities that are play centered and child-directed. While playing they are developing their concentration and attention skills that will only benefit them in their academic years to come.
  • Our classroom walls have some of my work up and I love to come in and see my hard work displayed for everyone to see. It makes me feel proud and it makes me want to do my best work.
  • We love our learning environment! One of our favorite places to go is the library. All of the books are organized and easy to access.
  • The students spend so much time talking and problem-solving during physical play time. Their language skills are developing quite nicely.
  • Here on the playground allowing my students intentional playtime with their peers. Physical play helps them decrees anxiety, helps develop motor skills, creativity skills, and keeps the students healthy.
  • A classroom that can be flexible with the learning environment, and flexible in general, can welcome a great amount of learning opportunities that can assist students who need something different.
  • Teaching Up helps me to know that yes routines are important, but sometimes we will go outside to the grass for a lesson or even the cafeteria! (Tomlinson)
  • At this school we will have a Growth Mindset. Every students has the ability to succeed and all we have to do is try our best and put in our greatest effort.
  • All my students are different and have different cultures, backgrounds, and interests. I will be sensitive, aware, and respectful of these differences so that this classroom is a safe environment for all the be successful.
