  • Your Excellency when ye treaty was discharged was pleased to say yt if anything should happen yt we could not understand or did not approve of we should inform you're Excellency of it; and what we are most aggrieved at is that the River Presumpscot is damed up so that ye passage of ye Fish which is our food is obstructed and yt Col. Westbrook did promise about two years ago yt he would leave open a place in ye Dam and ye fish should have a free passage up ye sd River into ye pond into ye proper Season but he has not preformed, and yt we are thereby deprived of our proper food.

  • The governor said no. Chief Polin was not happy because catching the fish is how they get food(Culture).

  • The meeting was in Boston(Geography). The governor asked him about how they trade(Economics).

  • the governor returned an answer to the Indians: the dam will be opened at the proper season.
