the Marco train Ghost Light
Railroad Conductor Joe Baldwin headed to work walked into the new Atlantic Coast Line in Maco , North Carolina.
Today will be a great day!
Guess the last cart is mine.
Being assigned the last car of the train, Baldwin executed his conductor duties to the best of his abilities.
one night changed it all, Joe's cart was dramatically slowing down as he went to investigate he saw the cart had detached from the rest and was stuck in the middle as another train was headed his way, as lights appeared in the far distance.
what in the world is going on?
oh god please see this light and stop please stop.
Joe grabbed his lantern ran to the end of the cart and desperately waved it to signal the other train, frantically waving and shouting at the incoming train when his heart dropped realizing the train wasn't going to stop anytime soon.
A thunderous roar let out as the massive metals crashed the train compacted the damsel cart. Joe still at the end of the cart was smashed between the trains soon becoming decapitated.
The lantern flew out his hand rolling alongside the two dismantled trains. Joe was the only life lost that horrific night.
