Mr Enfield and Mr Utterson met for their weekly walk on a Sunday. Usually they don't talk much which shows they are comfortable with their friendship.
Mr Utterson and Mr Enfield walked past a door. It reminded Mr Enfield of something, so he told Mr Utterson.
It was dark, 3am in the east end of London. A little girl was running as fast as her legs could take her and a man was walking at a pace, and trampled over the girl and kept walking.
Mr Enfield ran after the man and brought him back to the girl.
The young girl's family was surrounding her, worried and annoyed. Mr Enfield asked for his name and he went by the anme Mr Hyde. Mr Enfield told him he would ruin his reputation as gentleman, so he agreed to pay the family £100 pounds. However, the check was signed by Dr Jeckyll, a very respected gentleman.
Mr Enfiled took the check to the bank and realised it was not fraud. It confused him but the family got the money and Mr Hyde didn't get his cover blown as a gentleman.
