Storyboard Text

  • Oh, I should have kept quiet. I don't want to screw up our friendship...
  • Sadia was unsatisfied with the way Mariam treated Amira. Meanwhile, they had an argument on Mariam's de-hijab.
  •     You don't have to. I can see it when you look at me when I take off my scarf like you're better than me. You're so judgemental!
  • If you feel so bad for her, you could talk to her or sit with her at lunch or something. Not just hi, but the way I do--
  • I didn't say I was perfect...
  • Because you're so perfect.
  • Mariam made Sadia a sports uniform and Sadia was very happy to try it on. Their friendship got much better.
  • It was so hard to get the neckline right. I ripped it out like five times. There are some mistakes, but I think I could make it better if I--
  • Mariam, it's perfect! I really appreciate that!
  • It's so perfect!
  • What do you think of it, Sadia?
  • Mariam wanted to go to Jillian's party and she asked Sadia again if she could cover them in order to go to the party.
  • Uh...
  • Not yet. How about you?
  • Ask your parents if I can sleep over. When we get to your house, we'll ask your mom if she can take us to the movie theatre. Then we'll sneak out and walk to Jillian's house.
  • Did you say anything to your mom about Jillian's party?
  • Please, Sadia! I missed the last party to hang out with you. Don't make me miss another one.
  • Before the tournament began, Sadia was told that her outfit violated the rules.
  • The ref is telling me that Sadia's profit doesn't comply with tournament rules and she can't play unless she take off her head covering.
  • That's impossible. My daughter won't do that.
  • Can't play... Can't play... Can't play... The stupied rule....
  • Other team members felt unfair on the tournament rules and the whole team loudly voted for her to play the game. Sadia felt very embarrassed because of this.
  • How come?
  • Let her play! Let her play!
  • Now the whole gym knew... I'd never been embarrassed about my religion before, but I still wasn't! It was humiliating to be treated differently because I was Muslim.
  • What's going on?
  • What? Come on, ref!
  • They aren't letting Sadia play!
  • Sadia wanted to make the passion project to help Amira find her lost friends in Syria and Mariam was willing to help. Their friendship improved.
  • Oh, the real Mariam has come back. It's so nice to talk with her this way, like the Mask she had been wearing had fallen away.
  • I'll help you. I know it's not my project, but I'd still like to do something. I wasn't as nice to her when she arrived as I should have been.
  • I think I figured out what to do for my passion project. I want to help Amira find her friends, the ones she left behind in Syria.
