  • The question before the house is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, i consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery
  • Mr. president it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. but is this part of a wise men, engaged in a great struggle of liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not,and having ears , hear not, the things whcih so nearly concerm their salvation.

  • it shows how easily they were betrayed by someone they thought they could trust. this shows pathos by the way he explains they were betrayed with a kiss.
  • it shows how arguments and being peaceful never worked out and that there has to be a different solution this shows logos because it provides evidence that nothing has seemed to work.
  • the next best option is to fight for whats right and what we believe in this shows pathos because is there fighting for their country and what they believe in.
