Growing up where Britain and Ireland are enemies Tristan grew up to be a fierce courageous warrior based on his troubling past, his parents were killed by a man by the name of Morholt from Ireland.
He ends up being killed by the same guy who killed his parents, Morholt. Although he is discovered by a girl called Isolde from Ireland and is revived with an antidote from her, he falls in love with her as she nursed him back to health.
He has to go back home though, away from her. When he gets home he is put in a tournament on the behalf of Marke, his father figure and wins it. Little did he know that the prize was Isolde’s hand in marriage.
Over the years Tristan and Isolde have an affair because his love never left for her. Mark finds out about the fair and is angry because this could possibly be found out and ruin the British and Irish relationship.
Tristan and Isolde are told by Mark that they can leave the country and continue to be together, but on that day of secretly meeting up to leave British and Irish conflict you erupt and Tristan ends up getting killed, and dies in Marke’s hands.
Tristan's burial was where the two lovers secretly met up. Isolde planted two willow trees which grew to intertwine, just like their love for each other.
