  • Would you mind if I could borrow your necklace tonight?
  • Oh yes, of course you can!
  • Oh no! I've lost my friend's necklace!
  • This is Mme Loisel. She is married to a clerk at the Ministry of Education. She isn't satisfied with her life and felt that she was born for luxury and delicacy. 
  • I lost Mme Forestier's expensive necklace!
  • Well we are going to have to buy another one!
  • Im so sorry! I accidently lost your necklace but I got a new one.
  • This is Mme Loisel's  friend, Mme Forestier. Mme Forestier is very wealthy. In this scene Mme Loisel is asking her friend if she can borrow her necklace for a ball that she is going to. This is the rising action.
  • It's ok! it was just fake diamonds.
  • In this scene Mme Loisel realizes that she has lost her friend's expensive necklace that Mme Loisel can't afford. This is the climax of the story.
  • In this scene Mme Loisel is telling her husband that she lost her friend's necklace and will have to get the money to buy a new one so her friend does not know. This is the falling action.
  • In this scene Mme Loisel is explaining to her friend she lost the necklace she borrowed. The irony in this is that the necklace was fake and wasn't real. This is the resolution.
