  • Hamilton wanted to help the nation's finances to prove they repay their bills and they're trustworthy so here were his ideas. One was to pay off all war debts and two was to raise government revenues and the third and final idea was to create a national bank. Jefferson disagreed with this due to him and Madison thought that the constitution discouraged the concentration of power in the federal government. So the constitution writers had tried to make the document so it could be flexible. As a result of this arguments sometimes came up other the documents purpose or meaning. Madison and jefferson had argued that the constitution did NOT give the government the power to set up a bank.
  • Not Long after the battle of Fallen Timbers washington put another army into the field for the new arising problem on the tax on whiskey. Farmers outraged by this tax resisted it since they got most of their money off of whiskey and it’s easier to carry liquid then grain. Pennsylvania staged the whiskey rebellion which was a rebellion against the tax. One of the armed groups beat up a tax collector and covered him in tar, and feathers, then stole his horse. Washington has beat them and proved his point that the government had the power and the will to enforce its laws and that the government would not back down for a simple rebellion.
  • Inspired by the American revolution the french revolution against their government also demanding liberty and equality. At first the Americans supported this but they were unsure after this revolution turned very violent. This war had put americans into an awkward position because the french had allied with them and helped them but the British had a popular trade route that they used and the British was their main trade source. They didn't wanna lose either so they remained neutral until further notice or if they are forced to choose a side.
