Mond says that they will be sent to islands, and Bernard acts crazy so he is sent out the room. Helmholtz accepts the exile, thinking that he will be able to write thus exiting the room. John and Mond continue their conversation.

After the feely, a lot of people go there and force John to whip himself. Lenina comes and tries to hug him. John reacts by shaking his whip and screaming “Kill it! Kill it!”. The intensity of the scene causes an orgy and John participates.
