Honey, I think you should go to public school now. That way you'll have more friends when you go to high school.
In sixth grade, I was at a private school, and our mascot was a cougar. I loved the parties, sports, pep rallys, and most importantly, my friends.
This all changed when my mom suggested I go to public school. She said that, since I was going to public high school, making friends in middle school would make the transition easier. I, however, was scared of starting over without my friends.
I tried to make the best of the time I had left with my friends. We were all a little sad, though, and it was hard to stay positive.
Every time I thought about being the ¨new girl"at a school, I felt frightened and alone. I was scared of change.
Summer came and went. I tried to relax, enjoy the sunshine, and think of the positives of starting over.
I could reinvent myself, be who I never had the chance to be back at my small private school. I could be an athlete, a fashionista, or an artist. The possibilities were endless!
