  • The Legend of Te Tahi o Te Rangi - By Logan
  • He scared the people
  • Mutton birding out at whakaari
  • once there was a man named Te Tahi o Te Rangi and he was a tohunga. He had powers that enabled him to control nature. He lived in a place called Whakatane.
  • They where almost there
  • The people where frightn'd by his presence. They ran and hid when we walked near
  • They Arrived
  • The men of the tribe asked the tohunga to go mutton birding at whakaari. But what he didn't know is that they where setting him up
  • They where leaving
  • They where closing in on the shore of whakaari. Te tahi o te rangi was excited and the tribesmen were going over their plan in their heads.
  • They had arrived on the island. It was night time and te tahi o te rangi slept by himself, away from the tribesmen. But the men planned to kill the tohunga. And when he woke up they would not be there.
  • The tohunga woke and there was no one there so he thought that they had started on their way home. The tohunga was furious and he summoned a whale to come and rescue him. He raced past the tribesmen and tipped their waka. When he got back back to shore the people asked him "what should be their pueshment". And the tohunga said "let their shame be their punishment.
