Storyboard Text

  • Welcome back to term 4 on Crystal Lint High news!!! I'm Cassie
  • And i'm Zac and this term we are focusing on how bills become laws. Let's talk to Isabella and see what she has to say.
  • Hi guys! Right now i'm outside the Beehive. This is where the Government  comes and introduce new bills, where they debate and vote.
  • After the first stage it then moves on to a group of Mp's who then study the bill.
  • Thanks for that Isabella!! Were finally understanding the first stage.
  • Same! now let's go to Micthell who is in the debating chamber.
  • Thanks Zac. Hi everybody. Right now I am in the debating chamber where they have the second reading debate. This is where they carry on the debate about the bill and see what everyone else thinks.
  • Let's go talk to David who knows all about how bills become laws.
  • The next stage is the third reading. This is where they have their final debate and vote. To ensure that everyone has had their say. If the bill gets more votes of everyone saying no, the bill will be sent to the bin.If the bill gets made into a law it then goes to the Governor Generals to sign it.
  • Thanks Micthell. The next stage is the House Committe. This is where they think about the long term usage.
  • Wow! We just learnt all the steps on how laws get made!!thanks for all the help explaining guys. This is Cassie signing off. See you later!!
  • Yeah thanks guys! Hope you all learned something new today! Catch you guys later. This is Zac signing off.
