During the Industrial Revolution children worked long harsh hours in unsafe crowded factories.
In 1833 government passed a factory act limiting the amount of work hours and adding in mandatory school time.
Child Labor Laws -No child under 9 years old can work -Employers must have a copy of child workers age certificate -Children ages 9-13 can work no more than 9 hours a day -Children are not to work at night -Children are required to attend 2 hours of schooling each day
