Storyboard Text

  • Father, I beg you, please give me my share of the estate and the money. I don't want to wait until I am older.
  • If you wish. You must give me time to set up half for you and half for your brother.
  • Famine hits the land and poverty overtakes the youngest son, who quickly used up all his father's fortune.
  • Brother, I'm hungry!
  • I've barely anything left. I'm so hungry, maybe I can get a job and earn something.
  • We must spend the last of our money and then pray we don't die of famine.
  • I've been working so hard and get nothing for my labors. The farmers working on my father's land get paid more.
  • I will tell my father that I have sinned against him and demand him make me his servant.
  • Father, I have sinned against both you and Heaven. I am not worthy enough to be called your son.
  • It is my son, come home at last! We must celebrate!
  • My son was lost, and now is found; he was dead and is alive again!
  • I must give my son the best clothes and make sure he is healthy. We shall have a feast tonight.
  • Father, after everything I have done, all I have wasted, why do you treat me so well?
  • Father, a word?
  • After all I have toiled for you, never once have you given me anything. But for my brother, the greatest sinner of us both, you celebrate.
  • You are mistaken. You are always with me and all that is mine is yours. But you're brother has come home, and that is worth a celebration. You have not been forgotten.
