Storyboard Text

  • Our son... Your wish murdered him! Wish again! WISH HIM ALIVE!
  • Nothing can bring back the dead. I wouldn't use the paw again anyway. Herbert wouldn't be the same.
  • Fix this mess! WISH HIM ALIVE!
  • I... wish...
  • Herbert Loved Son Born-Died
  • Mrs. White sits, sobbing over the loss of her beloved son. Belatedly, it dawns on her that Mr. White has two more wishes. She demands that he instantly wish Herbert alive. But Mr.White hesitates, not entirely sure their son's death was coincidence. High-Angle shot on both Mr. and Mrs. White. Music is depressing and gets quieter, when Mr. and Mrs. White talk.
  • DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!
  • Mrs. White continues her forceful request that Mr. White wish Herbert alive once more. He does so reluctantly. Music is eerily quiet as the camera pans across the White's faces. The shot cuts to the paw as it squirms.
  • AARGH! The stupid door won't open!
  • The music reaches an almost unbearable crescendo and with a sudden 'DUN-DUN-DUUUNN!' a mangled Herbert slaps his hand on the dead grass around his uprooted grave. A high angle shot zooms in closer to his shredded face.
  • As he realizes WHAT, exactly, is at the door, Mr. White screams for his wife to retreat from the entrance. The music is loud and suspenseful, intending for the audience to stay at the edge of their seat.  CAMERA- Point Of View shot of Mr. white as he hurriedly searches for the paw. He glaces from his search to Mrs. White, jiggling the locked handle, several times.
  • Herbie, dear! I'm coming!
  • Mrs. White yells at the door to 'hold on!' because she can't get the lock undone. Mr. White kills his monster of a son with his last wish. The camera is in Mrs. White's perspective as she wiggles the door handle furiously. The music is loud and suspenseful.
  • I wish he's dead!
  • Less than a year later, when the music is sad and the camera has a dark lens, the screen shows a dead Mrs. White and a weeping Mr. White. The paw had been used for the last time.
