Othello Act 1 Scenes I-III
Block 1: Introduce the main characters Othello, Iago, and Roderigo. Show the setting (Venice) . Iago and Roderigo.
Block 2: The drunk scene where Iago and Roderigo go to Barbantio's (Desdemona's Father) house and give him a heads up on where his daughter is.
Block 3: Desdemona confesses her love and new marriage with Othello. Her father Barbantio despises this marriage and tells Othello to watch his back because she is not loyal.
Block 4: Shows Iago confessing his hatred towards Othello to Roderigo in private.
Block 5: Introduces the second minor conflict. The Turkish are attacking a part of Greece but they have just received word that the fleet has turned towards Cyprus.
Block 6: Lets the audience understand that Desdemona left because her husband left too. So Emilia (Iagos' wife) is now Desdemona's servant and right hand woman.
WOW! I cant believe that Iago and Rodrigo are arguing this late at night. On this very street located in Venice.
