  • Important literature works such as the Illiad were produced. A new, more realistic take on sculptures was used, and sculptures were often created with bronze. Architects had to compensate for the huge amount of people and put their city-building skills to the test during this age.
  • Legacy
  • A great legacy was left behind by Alexander the Great. Philosophy schools have been left behind all over the world by him. Greek ideas about things dealing with law are still used in politics today.
  • Math & Science
  • Believe it or not, your favorite algebra unit the "Pythagorean Theorem" developed during the Hellenistic Age. It was discovered by a man called Pythagoras, a Greek philosopher. Astronomy was also developed during this period. Elements, the basis of geometry, were discovered and studied.

  • Medicine
  • The Hippocratic Oath originated in Ancient Greece when a Greek physician named Hippocrates studied medicine and established some ethical standards for doctors. Doctors still take this oath today.

  • Alexander the Great's conquests helped culture diffuse throughout the world and blend Eastern and Western cultures. Greek architecture, religion, sports, and more were picked up by other civilizations.

  • The Hellenistic Age was a good time in history for Women. Evidence shows that they were no longer restricted to their homes, and more opportunities for jobs like poets and philosophers arose.
