Story about Phases of Matter

Storyboard Text

  • How about liquids?
  • Mom in liquids, the particles of a substance  have more kinetic energy than those in solid. the liquid are not held in regular arrangement, but are still  close to each other soliquids have definite volume.
  • Nice. You research it right. What's next?
  • Particles of a liquid have just enough room to flow around each other, so liquid have an indefinite shape.
  • Son, how about gas?
  • Gas have enough kinetic energy to overcome intermolecular  forces that holds solids and liquids together, thus gas has indefinite shape and volume.
  • I'm excited to hear your research about plasma. Can you tell something about this?
  • Yes Mom! It says that plasma is not a common matter on Earth but in the Universe. Plasma consists of highly charged particles with extremely high kinetic energy.
  • What are examples of plama?
  • Also stars are essentially superheated ball of plasma
  • Uhm! The noble gases like helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon are often used to make glowing signs by using electricity to ionize them in plasma state.
  • I guess you are ready for your lesson tomorrow. you research your assignment very well.
  • Thanks Mom for listening. Research about Matter and Phases of Matter brought advance knowledge about it.
