  • The kids are being evacuated on a plane because of the dangers of WW2. The plane crashes and leaves the boys (Jack, Piggy, Ralph, Simon, Eric, Roger, and Sam.) on a deserted island to defend for themselves. The conflict is dramatized by the fight between Ralph and Jack.
  • Falling Action
  • Jack leaves the fire un attended therefore it costs them there rescue as well as a lot of resources are destroyed. The kid with the birth mark on his face burns alive and is killed by the fire.
  • Resolution
  • Simon encounters the Lord of the Flies, which is the pig head, in the forest and realizes that the Lord of the Flies does not a physically exist but rather something that exists inside each boy on the island.
  • Symbol
  • Roger releases a stone that they used to guard the bridge and it falls on Piggy causing him to die. Piggy's head is crushed by the rock and his body is swept away by the water. The conch shell is also destroyed. Ralph goes to confront Jack and the others.
  • All the kids set the island on fire to try and get Ralph out of his hiding place. Ralph reaches the beach and is saved by a Navel officer who spotted the smoke.
  • The pig head is a symbol because it represents the inner killer/ hunter inside the boys. The rotting pig head sits on a stick in the ground, swarming with flies. The pig head symbolizes the power of evil. The Lord of the Flies recalls the devil as Simon recalls Jesus.
