  • Tybalt, here slain, whom Romeo's hand did not slay
  • That "banished," that one word "banished" hath slain ten thousand Tybalts
  • Romeo and Juliet Act III
  • ACT III Scene 3
  • But that joy past calls out on me, It were grief so brief to part with thee.
  • Tybalt tries to start a fight with Romeo but Mercutio steps in and gives his life in the action. Out of spite Romeo kills Tybalt resulting in him being banished from the city leaving Juliet, and his family.
  • ACT III Scene 4
  • Juliet has heard news of Romeos banishment and Tybalts death. She is distraught and is crushed by Romeos banishment. The nurse tells Juliet that she will bring her Romeo.
  • I tell thee what: get to the church o' Thursday. Or never after look me in the face.
  • The nurse finds Romeo hiding at Friar Lawrences' church; she tells him about Juliet and her sadness about his banishment. Romeo goes out to be with Juliet.
  • Juliet's parents sit down with Paris and talk about the future for their daughter. They agree to that Juliet will marry Paris on that Thursday.
  • Wednesday too soon. O' Thursday let it be.
  • After seeing Romeo Juliet's mother walks in and tells Juliet about her plans to kill Romeo, she then tells her about Paris' marriage proposal. When Juliet refuses to marry Paris her father gets very angry with her.
