  • American Revolutionary war
  • The Intolerable Acts were enacted  by the British Parliament because it was the reaction to the Boston Tea party in 1773 . They were also made because of the act of defiance the colonies were giving to Great Britain
  • 2nd continental congress
  • The event that led to the 1st Continental congress was the Intolerable acts . The American colonies couldn't tolerate the acts so the 13 colonies except Georgia met in Philidelphia to organize a resistance against the acts . They decided to go against Britain by boycotting British goods
  • Declaration of Independence
  • The American Revolutionary war started because the British decided to make the colonies pay for the war debt from the French and Indian war pay high taxes for sugar and tea , and in order to vote , they must send a representative to make their vote count . The Colonies disagreed with this and the war began after shots were fired at Lexington and Concord . That was the war were they refer to as "the shot heard around the world".
  • The 2nd continental congress took place after the Revolutionary war . It was a successful event and was better than the 1st continental congress . The Redcoats attacked Boston again and the 2nd continental congress assembled in philidelphia again . During the meet , they decided to move towards gaining independence and then the Declaration of Independence was adopted .
  • On July 4th , The 2nd continentalo congress adopted  Declaration of Independence and stated that the 13 colonies were no longer under British rule and declaring that they are a new nation , The United States of America .
