I've been assigned a project where I must demonstrate thermal energy. What is thermal energy?
Well, first I should explain energy. Energy is the result of physical motions or chemical reactions that work to create power.
An example of energy could be you running on a treadmill that powers a light bulb. A river with rushing water could power a machine with its energy too.
Thermal energy can move around and be measured but its not something you can touch or hold. A substance or object's thermal energy depends its temperature and amount.
Thermal Energy can flow 3 different ways. There's conduction, convection, and radiation
Conduction occurred as soon as the hand reached out and touched the hot pot of boiling water.
We'll start with CONDUCTION. Conduction happens when 2 or more things touch and energy is transferred from one to the other.
