  • On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed in France acting as a peace treaty between Germany and the Allied Powers, ultimately ending World War I. 
  • In the early 1920's, German politician Adolf Hitler led the Nazi Party which was a political party that highly supported racial hierarchy specifically against Jewish people. 
  • On December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes bombed the U.S. naval base of Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. This then sparked the beginning of World War II.
  • June 6, 1944 is known as "D-Day," which was the day the Allied Forces invaded Northern France via beach landings in Normandy.
  • During World War II, Nazi Germany practiced Ethnic cleansing against Jewish peoples. They tortured the Jews until mass deaths that occurred in Auschwitz, Poland. This became known as the Holocaust.
  • In 1945 and 1946, the Nazis were trialed under the Nuremburg Trials by judges from the Allied Powers where twelve Nazis were sentenced to death.
