Erik the Red

This bearded man here he is Erik Thorvaldsson, nicknamed Erik the red for his red hair and beard. He is also the proud father of Leif Eriksson, who also made a statement in history. Erik is also a famous and well known Viking in the Viking era where Vikings ruled the land.
He was also one of the very first people to have rule the settlement called Greenland in C.985.
One day Erik and a small group of men set off and reached land on the opposite shore of Greenland, a land that had been ignore by the Norwegian settler earlier in the 10th century.
The group of men rounded the Southern tip of Greenland. There he settled on the mouth of an island that was called Eriksfjord.
From there they also explored the Western and the Northern areas for about 2-3 years, on his journey he gave name to the places that he explored settled. On his journey he also decided to build his manor house on the inner area of Eriksfjord, he called it Brattahlid. And as for the country he named it Greenland because he thought it would attract settlers.
Erik had finally returned to Iceland in 985-986. The way that Erik had described the new territory and had also persuaded many of his people to follow him to his newly founded colony in Greenland.
