  • We first see Turtle when we read, "Turtle leaned on the handlebars, panting for breath" (Raskin 6).
  • Beginning Character Trait
  • Turtle has dark hair and doesn't braid it. The text states, "Except for her receding chin Turtle Wexler looked every inch witch with her dark, unbraided hair."
  • Middle Character Trait
  • This means that five hundred shares of SEA were traded at $8.50 per share.
  • Turtle is very clever. She uses her surroundings to her advantage. According to the text, "So every half hour Turtle had to ask permission to use the lavatory in oder to keep up with the latest stock market reports."

  • We were so close to winning.
  • Turtle is feisty. She likes to kick people's shins. We read, "Your daughter Turtle kicked me."
