Thursday, December 1st, 1955. Rosa Parks waits for the city bus to arrive after a long day at work as a seamstress at a department store to go home
Finally... after a long day of work!
Since it was against the law for a person that was not white to sit at the front of the bus, Rosa Parks sat down in the 5th row which was the first row of the coloured section.in the middle section of the bus. Black people were able to sit here as long as no white person was standing.
As the bus continued to go its route and more people file in, the bus driver notices that the, "Whites Only," section is full and more white people that are white have gotten onto the bus. So, he tells the people in Rosa Parks's row to move back. The three other African Americans move except Rosa Parks.
You all need to get up!
Rosa Parks decides she will not take it anymore. So she says no and doesn't move from her seat.
The bus driver gets off the bus and when he returns he is with a police officer. Rosa Parks is than arrested for violating segregation laws
