The stamp act was a law that taxed almost all printed materials including newspapers, wills, playing cards and more. It was passed because tax had to be paid
NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION! The Colonist were taxed even though they didn't have representation in parliament. Colonists did not agree with this law.
We helped Sam Adams start the sons of liberty. We protest acts and burn effigies. If you are a merchant we will urge you to boycott.
Now that Britain has lost so much revenue due to the stamp act, Parliment is demanded tp repeal the law.
Now because of the quartering act I have to feed these soldiers and let them sleep in my beds
With the new Townshend act, there is now tax on glass, tea, paper and more. This will start another boycott.
