St Thomas became a lawyer and also read the bible very frequently.
He also considered the Roman Catholic priesthood, but decided to be a lay Christian instead
He married his first wife,Jane Colt, and had 4 children. After Jane passed away, St Thomas remarried to AliceMiddleton, a widow with only one daughter.
St Thomas' success as a lawyer got the Royal Court;s attention and in 1521 he was made treasurer and knighted.
In 1534 St Thomas refused to accept a man named Henry was head of the church over the pope. He was found guilty and sentenced to death. He died on July 6, 1535. he was canonized by pope pius XI in 1935
