While Thebes is starting to suffer from plague and corruption, Oedipus sends Creon to seek how to save thee city. He returns and says the only way to save the city they have to kill the old king's murder. Tiresias says the murder was Oedipus and out of anger Oedipus blames it on Creon.
Oedipus and Jocasta then discuss his old prophecy and her old sons prophecy, and find a connection between the two. A messenger comes and informs Oedipus of his fathers death and tells him her wasn't his real father, he was found in the woods as a baby.
Polyneice and Etecoles are fighting for the throne and Creon is planning your death.
When Queen Jocasta figures out her son had murdered her husband and she has married her son she hangs herself. Oedipus is also overwhelmed so he blinds himself with Jocasta's golden brooches.

Oedipus and his daughter Antigone go to a grove near Athens, in Colonus. Oedipus says that it is his "journey's end", Oedipus kneels in prayer to the Elders of Colonus. Antigone delivers a plea on her fathers behalf to the Elders, who decide to leave Oedipus' fate to Theserus.
Ismene arrives at Colonus where her father is to tell him, his sons' have turn against him and are fighting over the throne. She also informs him of Creon's intentions to bury Oedipus outside of Thebes to save the city.
Oedipus is sickened by his sons' actions and becomes an Athenian citizen. Polyneice comes to convince his father to come home, but instead Oedipus disowns both him and his brother, and predicts their bloody fate or death.
