Oedipus' hamartia was that he was left on a mountaintop because an oracle told his parents he would grow up and kill his father leading to his downfall when he slays his family.
Oedipus suffered from hubris or excessive pride that led to his downfall in the play. He attempts to defy prophecies of gods and ended up causing his downfall in which and oracle told him that he would kill his father and marry his mother, in the city of Thebes where he traveled to because of his hubris.
Oedipus' perpeteia or reversal in fortune came in the end of the play. The messenger appeared and stated that Oedipus had slain his father prior to marrying his mother, causing his "wife" or birthmother to commit suicide.
