Romeo and Juliet meet at the masquerade. Romeo tells Juliet how beautiful she and that he wishes to kiss her. The two exchange names, but before they are able to talk, they are interrupted.
Romeo eavesdrops on Juliet while she is talking to herself outside her balcony. After a while, he comes out and begins to talk to Juliet. After them kissing and hugging and talking to each other, Juliet asks him to marry her. After less than a day of knowing each other, they will be married the next day.
Friar Laurence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet. Nobody but those three and the nurse know about the marriage.
Mercutio and Tybalt get into a fight. Mercutio is then slain by Tybalt. Romeo is outraged and avenges his friends death by killing Tybalt. The Prince outlawed fighting earlier, so Romeo is banished from Verona. He heads to Mantua.
Lord Capulet decides to have the County Paris marry his daughter Juliet. Juliet does not want to marry him. Juliet and Laurence come up with a plan to fake her death. Juliet will drink a potion to fake her death and will then be put into her tomb where she will wake up and meet Romeo.
Paris goes to Juliet's tomb to pay respects. Him and Romeo meet. They fight and Romeo slays Paris. Paris's wish is to be put by Juliet. Romeo doesn't know Juliet isn't really dead, so he kills himself with a poison he bought. Right after, Juliet wakes up from her fake death and notices Romeo dead. She then takes his dagger and kills herself. The Prince then shames both families for having their feud.
