  • Visit Rome
  • 95 Thesis
  • After Martin Luther got struck by lightning he said that he would devote his life to God and become a Monk and began his studies in Wittenberg.
  • Diet of Worms
  • He saw all the corruption and that made him inspired to make a change in the Catholic Church. He also noticed that the people of Rome had to pay to get an indulgence and become free from sin.
  • Translated the Bible
  • Once Martin Luther saw all of the people buying indulgences, he wrote the 95 theses and nailed it the the door of the church. The 95 theses stated 95 things that he disagreed with about the Catholic Church.
  • Peace of Augsburg
  • The Diet of Worms was when Martin Luther came to Worms, Germany and was asked to take back his words to the Catholic Church. Because Luther did not take back his words, he was excommunicated.
  • Luther being excommunicated was like Luther being kicked put of the society. After Luther was excommunicated, he went hiding and he rewrote the bible in German so people could read it and begin to agree with him.
  • The Peace of Augsburg ended the German princes feud with the Catholic Church. It allowed for the German princes to choose between Lutheranism and Catholicism in their provinces.
