Jacob Peralta seemed like a normal newborn, but little did his parents and the world know that Jake would become one of the world's greatest heroes at the age of 18. Jake was born with special powers. He could control objects with his mind, create forcefields, and even look into the pat and into the future. Nobody knew about these powers throughout Jake's childhood except for himself.
Throughout his young life, Jake experimented with his powers on his own but never really knew what he could use them for. He cleaned his room using mind control, and he spoiled movies for himself by looking into the future; however, he never did anything productive with them. That was until...
Jake was out on a shopping trip with his family when suddenly a man opened fire on the store's patrons. Unfortunately, neither of Jake's parents survived the incident. This man was forever Jake's nemesis, and he would be known as the Metal Jacket. Fuming with anger, he thought of a way to utilize his once useless powers. From that day on, Jake vowed to protect as many innocent people from shootings as he could, all in honor of his parents.
Jake searched everywhere for someone that could give him lessons on taming and training his powers. After months, he finally found an intriguing alien wizard named Creos that was wiling to help him get his powers ready. He trained in space for 18 months, and his parents watched every step of the way. With almost 2 years of training behind him, Jake knew he was prepared to protect the citizens of America. All he needed was a name, and thus Recoil was born.
As soon as he got back to Earth, Recoil was faced with his first challenge. The Metal Jacket was attacking a school, and Recoil had to stop him. He harnessed all the power he could and created forcefield around the school, deflecting bullets and shrapnel. Recoil saved the day! Everyone made it out of the school safely.
This was the first of many of Recoil's adventures. He stops mass shootings using his mind powers, and he has saved thousands of lives. In order to stop the death of hundreds of civilians due to gun violence in America, Recoil is the hero we need.
