Storyboard Text

  • Robespierre was associated with the Reign of Terror which was a year long time of death and despair. France was overseen by the Committee of Public Safety at the time. There was quite a bit of violence over the course of this year and many people who spoke out against the government or church were guillotined as is depicted in the picture above.
  •  The rise of Napoleon was a rapid and significant one indeed. This historically famous figure in French history rose through the military ranks quickly during the revolution. Shortly thereafter, he seized power over the country and declared himself emperor a few years later. Additionally, he created a new government.
  • In conclusion, the French Revolution was both successful and detrimental to the society. The revolution took away the power held by the church and government gained that power. A great benefit from it was that there were improvements in society such as more equality. However, the bad side to the revolution was that many perished during that time. All in all, the French Revolution created a future for the country that shaped it forever.
