This storyboard does not have a description.
One day, Sogolon went to Sassouma's to get a little baobab leaf.
Sassouma criticizes Sogolon that her son is better, because he can walk.
"Help yourself, you poor woman. As for me, my son knew how to walk at seven and it was he who went and picked these baobab leaves. Take them then, since your son is unequal to mine."
Sogolon was dumbfounded. Mari Djata was sitting outside when she came back, she found a stick, grabbed it, and started hitting Mari Djata with it.
Sogolon tells Mari Djata what Sassouma said.
"Sassouma has just humiliated me over a matter of a baobab leaf. At your age her own son could walk and used to bring his mother baobab leaves."
Mari Djata tells Sogolon that he will start walking. In order to do this, Mari Djata needed the heaviest possible iron rod to help hold him up.
"Ah, my son, to wipe out this insult I want the tree and its roots at my feet outside my hut."
Mari Djata says he will get Sogolon the tree, as soon as he starts walking. However, Sogolon has no hope.
