Storyboard Text

  • Today we're going to discuss cyber- bullying.
  • What is that Mr. Smith?
  • It sounds like someone picking on a computer. Ha Ha!
  • Yeah like stealing my laptop's lunch money ! Hee Hee!
  • We're sorry. We just don't understand.
  • Children this is no laughing matter.
  • Cyber-bullying is when a person or group of people single out someone online and verbally abuse them or post embarrassing photos. It can involve lying and emotional torture as well.
  • That sounds horrible!
  • I had no idea. I actually had a friend that had to deal with that. I thought she was just being oversensitive.
  • Unfortunately that happens a lot. especially to young people. It is growing problem in our communities and it is very serious.
  • This all sounds like a big fuss over nothing though. Can't you just shut off the computer. I mean what's the worst that could happen?
  • What can we do to help? I would hate for this to happen to me or my friends.
  • I wish it was that simple . Unfortunately  cyber-bullying is like other kinds of bullying. It can be tied to depression low self esteem and even suicide.
  • I am seriously going to be a better friend and tell people about this. I don't want to see anyone get hurt.
  • Thanks Mr. Smith , I learned so much about this. I am definitely going to listen to my friends and try to be more compassionate.
