Achilles is attacking Hector, bent on revenge, because Hector killed his dearest friend, Patroclus. Hector wants to fight and nobly go down like a hero. From the walls of Troy, King Priam and Queen Hecuba try to save their so Hector, but it is futile.
*Pant, pant* I will fight.
As Achilles comes closer, Hector, scared by the sight of him, chickens out and decides to run from him.
Achilles chases Hector three times around the walls of Troy.

Finally, Hector, exhausted, realizes that he will have to stand and fight.
Both Achilles and Hector draw their spears.
Up on Mount Olympus, Zeus wonders whether the gods should interfere and save Hector. Athena angrily says no, that the gods should leave Hector to his fate.
Hector's always been a good man. Should we save him?
